Brookline Labrador Retriever Rescue
Helping Labs Find Their Fur-Ever Homes
Remi
Hello to all you Lab Fans that tune in to read Brookline’s Success Stories!

I’m happy to tell you my story. My name is Remington and I’m a 4 year old Purebred Chocolate
Male that was turned in as a stray to a shelter. I know, crazy to say, why no one wanted me, but
read on to learn that powers beyond my wildest dreams had a big plan. I stayed in the shelter for
two weeks. The shelter staff was pretty good to me and my favorite part there was playing with
the other dogs. I would lay awake at night and wonder what it would be like to be in a home
where I was loved and spoiled. Then, there was hope, Heather from Brookline came to visit me
and what Brookline Rescue does this evaluation to make sure I get the clear to get placed. Well,
I passed with flying colors.

Little did I know that three hours away, a nice Brookline Volunteer had a very sick 12.5 yellow lab
that was going to cross the Rainbow Bridge where he would suffer no more. She reached out to
Heather and pretty much; things were getting set up to get me to her to start my new journey.

I met my new mom and well I wasn’t neutered yet but out of all the Brookline volunteers that
were there at my transport, I peed in my mom’s leg to mark she was mine and there was no
looking back. I got to get a really nice bath when I got home and that felt so good to smell as good as I looked.

Mom started taking me on a bunch of daily walks. She says its good for both of us. She even let me sleep on her bed. I set the bar pretty
high and immediately started with a protest of a minimum of a five-minute belly rub before I get out of bed. I got neutered and mom
couldn’t help but laugh at me since I looked and acted like a drunken sailor that day. I healed quickly and we were back to our walks as
normal. Mom really loves that I ride so well in the car. This makes it nice for her to take with me on errands and stuff since the weather
is so nice out. We’re sort of two peas in a pod you could say.

Mom calls me Remi all the time and when I do something funny or she really wants me, she calls me Remington. She really never has
to call me though because I’m on her like white on rice. I give a whole new meaning to "Velcro". She has learned not to trip on me as
much and I like doing the back up moonwalk when she needs to get pass me. I’ve mastered "fetch", "sit" and I am working on more
commands. I start training on October 26, can’t wait. Going to be hard to focus when there will be so many dogs there that I will want to
play with.

I got really lucky and I wish every Lab like me could go to a home where they are so loved and cared for.

It’s almost a month and mom made me an official part of her family on October 9, 2010, one of the best days of my life. I am never going
anywhere again. I constantly kiss her and tell her just how happy I am that we found one another. She tells me wonders who rescued
who?

Thanks Brookline!

Love and super sloppy kisses…
