Brookline Labrador Retriever Rescue
Helping Labs Find Their Fur-Ever Homes
Gunner #2 (now Quinn)
I, Quinn FKA Gunner #2 went from life as a stray to being a loved
family member. I quickly charmed my way into the Brookline family
first with my shelter evaluator and then with my foster family. Since I
had major medical needs I remained with my foster family for six
months before I was well enough to be placed with my forever family.
Once I was well enough to be placed the big question was who
would adopt a 1 ½ year old lab with such bad hips and a need to
swim all year round?

Turns out my new family would be another Brookline volunteer that
had suddenly just lost their own lab, Oakley.  Oakley was the reason
my new mom joined Brookline. Oakley, like me had a rough start in
life, but with Brookline’s help found his way to his new home. Like
me, Oakley had orthopedic issues and so my new mom is no
stranger to the need to swim. I even went swimming with Oakley a
few times before he passed away and he showed me that it was no
big deal to just walk right in and start swimming.

I know that I will have the sweet life from now on and will never have the fear of not being loved ever again. With time I hope my goofy
personality will help my new mom heal after the loss of Oakley. It is the least I can do to pay back all that Brookline has done for me.
