Black Jack (now Jack)
Hi Everyone,

Well, Jack’s my name, but Blackjack was my game. I say was, because my cards have added
up to 21 and I’M ADOPTED!

On May 13, 2010, my new Mom and Dad, all parties involved, and of course me, met at a
neutral Petsmart to start my pre-adoptive process. Well, I guess it was love at first sight,
because Mom and Dad had no qualms about taking me home with them that night. In fact,
Mom tells me that she was afraid someone else would steal me away.

Well, little did I know then, the awesome adventure on which I would be emBARKing. When we
arrived home that night, I was a little jittery and had to explore everything, inside and out.  Mom
and Dad were very patient and let me take all the time I needed to sniff out the new pad. I
thought then that I could be quite comfortable here, I was right. Mom had a brand new bed for
me that they set up in their bedroom, and that night after Mom and I exchanged goodnight
kisses, we all had sweet dreams. The next day I saw all my new toys, boy, is this going to be
fun.

Although it is just Mom, Dad, and I who are living in our PA. house, I am part of a very extended
family. We have 5 grown children, 4 spouses, 7 grandchildren ages 2 to 13, and 3 other
granddogs. Since they all live pretty close-by, I see them quite often, and they all seem to love
me. My canine cousins are all pretty cool, Jersey the golden retriever, Charlie beagle, and
Lucky, a female labbie- hound mix. Charlie and Lucky, like me, were adopted.  Wow, the
holidays should be really great!

Well, about a week after arriving home, Mom told me it was time to take a road trip to see
my summer home. What, I thought, another home. She said that we were going to the Jersey
shore, and since I love car rides, I wasn’t about to argue.

Can you imagine, I get to spend the winters in PA and the lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer on
the water at the shore, now who wouldn’t love that!

Oh, and I get to spend most of the summer with Jersey girl, the DIVING QUEEN, she is SUCH
a show-off, but that’s another story. We do have lots of fun playing, swimming, and generally
hanging out trying to steal each others tennis balls.

All in all, life is good, and I have the wonderful ladies from Brookline to thank for my little bit of
labbie heaven. Thank you Peggy, Mary, and Jackie, and a great big hug and kiss to Ann, the
hospice nurse who found me and contacted Brookline.

Yes, that’s me, just “sittin on the dock of the Bay” watching all the activity.
Oh, did I tell you that I love boat rides!

Well, bye for now!
Lots of hugs & kisses
xxxxxooooo
Jack
