Brookline Labrador Retriever Rescue
Helping Labs Find Their Fur-Ever Homes
Ernie (now Cody)
Hi everyone.  My name is Cody and I am a beautiful chocolate lab, if I do say so myself.
I was adopted by my new Mom and Dad on July 14th.  It's taken me this long to get my
act together and write because I have been so busy.  I've been going back and forth
between my home in Horsham and my "summer villa" at a campground outside of
Long Beach Island, NJ.  What a life!  Mom and Dad are retired, so they are with me
24/7 for the most part.  And I love them so much.  Mom calls me "Thumper" because
my tail is always wagging.  I've knocked more than a few things off of the end tables,
but they never get mad at me cause I just give them a goofy smile and a sloppy kiss.
Boy, I love to give kisses.  I also like to lay on the floor or the bed with Dad....the closer
the better.  I'm just so darn happy all of the time. I've also been going to obedience
classes every Monday night.  I'm doing really good at class when it's just me, but I
kinda lose focus when something is going on around me.  Maybe I have ADHD or
something?  When Dad takes me for my morning walk around the neighborhood or
the campground I seem to forget everything I learned, especially if another dog is
barking.  He doesn't understand that I just want to go and say hello.  When it finally
sinks into my brain to listen to commands all of the time, Mom and Dad are going to
take me out on their boat on Barnegat Bay.  They even have a doggie life vest for me!!!
Dad knows that I'm really trying and praises me all of the time when I do good.  Besides, I'm so darn cute that you can't help but love
me.  Mom and Dad are always smiling at me.  I can tell that they really missed having a doggie around the house because they're
always hugging me.  And, boy oh boy, do I love hugs!

I want to thank my foster Mom Kellie for all that she did for me, and for giving me all of those neat toys.  Kellie wrote awesome notes for
my new Mom and Dad so it would help them know what makes me tick.  She was a great Mom to me.  Mom and Dad want to especially
thank Robyn from Brookline for all of her tireless work in finding them the perfect fur-ever lab to join their family.  She worked tirelessly
on their behalf to help heal their broken hearts and she is an incredible asset and ambassador for Brookline.

Hugs and sloppy kisses,

Cody
