Brookline Labrador Retriever Rescue
Helping Labs Find Their Fur-Ever Homes
Sam
Sam's story is not one of our normal success stories, but
Sam has a new loving home so we will present his story
since the team efforts made this a  true success.

Sam was introduced to a Brookline family who thought he
would be perfect as an addition to their family.  Unfortunately,
things did not work out as everyone had hoped and Sam
could not go back to his previous home.   Under normal
circumstances, Sam would have gone into foster care or to a
kennel until another home could be found.  His temporary
foster family agreed to keep him until arrangements could be
made.

Brookline has a working relationship with a special trainer in
Maryland who trains these high energy, high intensity problem
pups for jobs like drug detection, search and rescue,
or any other special jobs that require this type of dog.   Sam
was evaluated by this trainer and thought to possess the
personality required.  Sam was taken to Maryland and started his training.  We got the following update from the special trainer:

The most recent dog we evaluated "Sam" looked good initially but didn't have enough sustained drive for drug detection work. We
continued his obedience work and placed him in a home this week.

A former client and friend I have known for more than 15 yrs called looking for a pet. Sam has found a forever home with my friend
who is retired and owns a home in the country.

Here is a note from his new family:

Just a note to tell you how much we are enjoying Sam. He's a perfect gentleman and seems to really enjoy his new digs. He's settled
right in and has the run of the house. It's so nice to have another dog in the house that knows how to behave. He's really great
company!

A great team effort...thanks everyone!   And thanks from Sam too!
