Brookline Labrador Retriever Rescue
Helping Labs Find Their Fur-Ever Homes
Emma
My name is Emma.  I was alone, pregnant and walking the streets because no one
wanted me.  I was picked up by some nice people who took me to a hospital where
I had my puppies and got the care I needed.  Then I went to Brookline Lab Rescue
and they tried to place me with nice people but they didn't want to deal with my
problem (I get very upset when I'm alone).  So Brookline kept me until they found the
right people who wanted to be with me and take care of me furever.

One day I was at a park in New Jersey with my foster mom and along came a
couple from Pennsylvania.  They came all the way here just to see me.  They kept
petting me and talking to me just like everyone else but I didn't know that they
already loved me.

A couple of weeks later - there they were again and there I was - in their home.  It
didn't take me long to realize that they loved me and this was my furever home.
Because of my special problem and taking meds for it, I don't do too much but they
don't care.  I get real scared at loud noises too like thunder but I just curl up with
Mom (I don't need meds for that any more).  I like to sleep a lot (especially on Mom's
bed) or very close to her.  My mom is helping me not to be afraid to be alone.  Every
time she goes out the door she says I'll be back and sure enough, a short time later, there she is and says I'm back.  I get all kinds of
treats and even steak sometimes just for being me.  She did teach me to shake and give a high five for some treats.  If that makes her
happy, I can do that.

Well time for a nice cozy nap.  Thank you Brookline for placing me here.

Love, Emma

P.S.  My mom & dad are Londa & Howard Westen
