Brookline Labrador Retriever Rescue Helping Labs Find Their Fur-Ever Homes
|

“Happy Ending”
Hi - my name is Cheyenne and I am 9 years young. After relegating me to the basement the last few years, my previous owner decided
that he didn’t want me anymore and I ended up at the pound – not fun! Thank goodness my grandma rescued me, temporarily put me in
a friend’s kennel and then contacted Brookline. After getting all checked out, I went to a great foster family and spent Christmas with
them.
My new mom and dad weren’t too sure that they wanted to adopt an older girl since they already had a resident 12 year old lab. After
reading my story and seeing my pictures, my new mom and dad decided that they wanted to give me a new home. I wasn’t too sure
that I wanted to leave my foster family with all the new friends I made there, but I went home with my potential new family anyway.
I quickly established myself as “top dog”. Thank goodness my fur sister, Tess, is very submissive because I love attention…and I’m
pretty good at getting it, too! Since my fur sister didn’t sleep in my parent’s bed, I hopped right in and sleep there every night (I must say -
it’s quite cozy). I also follow my new dad around everywhere he goes!
My new parents really love me and told me that it feels like I’ve always been part of the family. Even my fur-sister kisses me all the
time! She wasn’t too sure about me in the beginning, but after I stole a bag of bread from the counter, I think she had a new respect for
me! We partied while our parents were out and I think it bonded us as sisters!
Even though I’m a little older, I am so glad my parents decided to take a chance, adopt me and make me part of their family. I have lots
of love and affection to give and I get lots of love and affection in return!
Special thanks to my grandma for saving me at the pound, Tami (our Brookline volunteer) & Lynette (my foster mom) and everyone who
made my new life possible! I’m so happy in my fur-ever home!!!
With Hugs & Wet Kisses,
Cheyenne
