Brookline Labrador Retriever Rescue
Helping Labs Find Their Fur-Ever Homes
Hi, my name is Sadie, fka Tracey. Wow, has my life changed in the past 6 months! I am a 5-year old purebred yellow English lab. I
grew up at a puppy mill in Lancaster and had 10 litters - can you imagine??? I was getting too old to have any more puppies and the
farm didn't want me, so Brookline took me in. My foster family not only had to teach me how to do my business outside (I'd never lived
in a house before), but also how to use stairs and walk on a leash. They got me spayed and started working off my baby
weight…boy, did I need it!

The biggest problem with finding me a home was that I don't like to be alone - I love company! My new family has 2 boys - ages 5 and
7 - and a 10-year old chocolate lab named Seamus. I bonded immediately with my new mom, but then I'd get really upset when she'd
leave and I'd destroy stuff (a metal crate, ouch, and a poisonous house plant, oops). Then I realized that Seamus was left home with
me, too, so now I hang out with him in the kitchen. I get an extra special treat whenever they leave and sometimes I don't even notice
when they come back - Seamus and I are too busy snoozing : I'm already doing much better on the leash - I no longer zigzag and trip
up my mom. And I've become a pro with all of the stairs! My family can't wait to see what I think of the water when they take Seamus
swimming this summer. Thank you Brookline for helping me find my fur-ever home,

Lots of tail wags and thumps, Sadie

A special thank you to the Lewises (foster family) and Mary & Peggy (Brookline volunteers) who did such an awesome job with Sadie
- we needed a little extra advice (and an extra crate ASAP) during our trial period. Sadie is such a sweetheart - we are so glad that we
"stuck it out" and found out what a wonderful dog she really is.
