Brookline Labrador Retriever Rescue
Helping Labs Find Their Fur-Ever Homes
As dog lovers, my husband and I recently experience the heartbreak of losing our 14 year Labrador retriever in January. While we
thought it would take time to get over the loss, we soon realized that the house was very lonely. The decision to adopt a new dog was
made! As parents of two small children, we knew we had additional criteria to consider in adopting a dog.

Brookline contacted us about a 5 year old black Labrador retriever, Lucky, in need of a new home. Lucky was very loved in his home
and had the experience of being around many young grandchildren; however his current owners had medical conditions that were
making it difficult to provide the care necessary for a 5-year old Labrador.

How lucky we are to have met Lucky!

He has easily blended into our family. Our 5 year old son has adopted him as his special friend and he loves to play with him and
teach him to sit and shake hands/paw. Our 3 year old daughter affectionately calls him ‘Lucky ducky’. He was only with us two days,
before my son announced that Lucky was part of our family. Lucky has been gentle and kind with our small children. While being an
exuberant lab, he has never been too pushy with the kids.

It is wonderful to listen to the click-click of dog nails on the wood floor. To hear the whap-whap of a wagging tail on a wall or the floor.
To get wet kisses and to have a soft furry animal to hug.

We are the Lucky ones!
Lucky!
