| Brookline Labrador Retriever Rescue Helping Labs Find Their Fur-Ever Homes |
Kelly was found at a local shelter as an 11 month old puppy, surrendered by her elderly owner
because a labrador puppy was just too much to handle. We quickly scooped her up and placed
her in a foster home, where we discovered she loves to retrieve endlessly and swim in fish
ponds!
Her new family had adopted from Brookline before (see Athena) and after losing their two labs
to old age within two months of each other, they yearned to share their lives with another. Of
course rescue was the answer!
With their training experience and energy level, Kelly was no match for them! They needed a
dog that could keep up with them physically and mentally and Kelly fit the bill. They fell in love
with her and we all marveled at her seamless transition into their home. Kelly loves her new
human brother and they spend hours playing ball. And as an added bonus, Kelly has not one,
but TWO ponds to swim in at their vacation home.
