Brookline Labrador Retriever Rescue
Helping Labs Find Their Fur-Ever Homes
The beginning of this story is a hard one. A family was being forced legally to give up
their beloved three labs for having to many dogs. These girls were raised together
from puppies and have lived together for the past 3 or more years. Now they were
going up for adoption but they wanted to be kept together if at all possible.

Luckily there was hope. Hershey and her yellow sister Dusty were going to be adopted
together and the black sister Rosie was to be adopted to the next door neighbor. So
they we be together as close as Brookline could do and on a short time frame of only a
month. But this was not meant to be. Unforeseen circumstances caused Hershey and
Dusty to come back into the rescue.

And with only a week to find a home I volunteered to foster Hershey. Having a
fondness for chocolate labs and having followed her story from the beginning I was
only too willing to help her.

From the moment I brought her home she has been a loving member of our family.
Hershey and my other dogs got along just like they were raised together from puppies.
She even paid no mind to our cat. But the way she interacts with the kids is the
clincher. She loves to be outside in the yard with them in all kinds of weather. She
never leaves their side. She sled rides with them in the winter and swims with them in
the summer. She loves to run and play and when she comes in will lay down and just
watch everything. Hershey will not go to bed at night unless everyone is tucked in safe
and sound.

She is a working dog too; you may see her at a Brookline event in Central PA where
she gladly acts as an Ambassador for Brookline Lab Rescue. We are all very grateful
she came into our lives and can't imagine a day with out our Hershey Kisses!
