| Brookline Labrador Retriever Rescue Helping Labs Find Their Fur-Ever Homes |
Hershey aka “Bear” came to us as an eight year old lab with the energy level of a 3 yr.old
lab. His owners were an elderly couple who needed to give him up since they needed to go
into a retirement home. Hershey came to us after his first placement did not work out
because his above average energy level and typical lab behavior was more than they
bargained for. We fell in love with Hershey right away and he made a quick adjustment to
his new home. My daughter calls him Bear because he acts like a big old Teddy Bear. He
looks forward to his walks in a nearby park and even went for a swim in the creek one
warm fall day. He loves everyone and every dog he meets and has gotten to be the
neighborhood favorite. It is sometimes hard to hold back all 87 pounds of pure energy from
running to every friend he sees. We are still working on that! He even loves the mailman
and was so excited when he saw him in the park one Sunday! Thanks Brookline for placing
