Brookline Labrador Retriever Rescue Helping Labs Find Their Fur-Ever Homes
|

Hey everybody – it’s me Luke (almost like my former name, Duke). Sorry I
haven't been in touch, but I've been very busy at my new home. Right now I'm on
a road trip to the Poconos to visit Grandmom and Pop – maybe get in a little
snowboarding – eh? I'm wearing my Christmas bandana and the folks brought
me a bit of bacon and toast from the diner for the ride. It’s all very good.
My new parents really wanted ME because I'm older. They said that since they
are old too that I would be just perfect. We take long naps together and our
medications everyday and Mom says it’s okay when we forget things. I've made
a new friend – sort of. His name is Oliver and I'm told he’s a cat. We share
space in front of the wood stove and on the back porch in patches of sun. He’s
an okay housemate and at dinner time we both sit side by side waiting for our
bowls.
Did I tell you about the WONDERFUL smells in my new backyard? I've sniffed
deer, rabbits, raccoons and squirrels! Just exquisite! Did I tell you about the
neighbors? They come to visit. One of them plays ball with me in the house.
(Mom just rolls her eyes!) Another one comes over and takes me for a walk if
Mom and Dad are running late. ALL of them scratch my ears and most of them
slide me treats.
I wish all of you labbies could find a new furever home like mine and I know that
the folks at Brookline are working very hard to make that happen. I have a
sailing date on the Chesapeake with my Dad in the Spring and I'm sure there
will be some new spells in the backyard when Mom starts her gardening. I'll try
and drop all of you another (brook) line!
