Brookline Labrador Retriever Rescue Helping Labs Find Their Fur-Ever Homes
|

My gentle giant
It was this past summer when i was introduced to Dante. "Oh boy he's big" were the first
words out of my mouth when we got in the car to take him home. Will he like it here? Will I
be able to exercise him enough? Will he even fit in the house? These were thoughts
flooding my mind. And when we first started to play he was nipping. Had I made the
wrong decision. But a call to Nicole from Brookline rescue put my mind at ease. She
provided me with the education and support I needed about Dante to better understand
his behavior.
By the time the 3 week trial was over there was no way I was giving this angel back. We
established a routine for walks and feedings. Kisses and hugs were the most important
part since he has such a big lovey face. (you big dog lovers out there know what i mean,
the little ones just don't compare, sorry) He sleeps on my bed, I barely fit anymore, and is
the best alarm clock anyone could wake up to! On the weekends he loves to run free with
his cousins (Taz and Nikki) at mom's house. How do I know? His tail never stops
wagging.
He gives me warmth, security, lovin' and laughs. I'd do anything for the big baby! I think he
is happy with me too. I thank the hardworking volunteers at Brookline Lab Rescue for
bringing Dante into my life. What a bessing he is!
