Brookline Labrador Retriever Rescue Helping Labs Find Their Fur-Ever Homes
|

Cosmo came to us from a shelter in the Harrisburg area. He was placed into Karen's K-9, a dog care facility in Frazer,
Pennsylvania, who fosters for our Rescue and puts our young rescues through a 3 to 4 week training program. The problem was
that Cosmo did not like being confined and had two broken teeth to prove it! So we knew it may be a challenge to place him. Karen’
s K-9 did a wonderful job training him (thank you!!) and we set out to find his forever home, knowing that he couldn’t be crated
during his initial adjustment period.
It took a little while to find his furever home, but Cosmo’s new family fell in love with him from his picture on the website. I will never
forget the day they met him and new dad said “he’d recognize that curled tail anywhere!” They worked with him on being reliable
outside of a crate and on a few other challenges like trying to strangle himself (or sometimes dad) while on his long lead when
seeing another dog. He also had to have those two broken teeth surgically removed.
From his new family…..
"Outside of the recent teeth problem Cosmo has been the light of our life, he is a very, very good dog. Still completely reliable in the
house 10 hours a day, he is every bit the gentleman. As you can see in the picture I attached, he is happy. At the vet he was 98.4
pounds. I solved my long lead problems by installing an in ground fence, outside of 2 training breaks he is completely respectful of
the fence boundaries without getting shocked. All in all I would say Cosmo is most happy with us as we are to have him."
Just take a look at the pictures above. "Cosmo Then" looks so sad and he was very thin. "Cosmo Now" is one happy and BIG boy! It’
s amazing what a little love and attention can do!
