Brookline Labrador Retriever Rescue
Helping Labs Find Their Fur-Ever Homes
Buddy was given up by his former owner because of tragic circumstance that occurred in his former family. They loved Buddy very
much but could no longer keep him due to their unfortunate circumstances. We were told Buddy is a trickster and can open gates and
he can even open coolers at picnics...LOL! When he opens the coolers he roots around in them until he finds a can of Root Beer
Soda, then brings it to you :-) He does this on his own. Nobody knows why. But we think this is a cool trick! By the way, he will only get
Root Beer soda and no other type..! Buddy has been placed & adopted by a new family and this is their story of how he has captured
their hearts as well as ours.....

Buddy arrived at our house on a hot day in May 2004. As soon as he got into the house, things began to change. Buddy immediately
took control of our 3 cats. If they scratched at anything,,, BAM,,, Buddy would herd them away from the scene of the scratching. If they
were playing chase, Buddy would join in. This gentle giant of 7 yrs. loves cats. He was a little slow in the beginning dealing with our
other younger rescued Lab, Ace, but has become a complete playmate. Buddy now initiates play. He also enjoys the company of the
dogs our friends and relatives bring over on  weekend visits. He has indeed taken control of all pets that visit HIS house and property.
Buddy is also extremely tolerant of young children. When he has had enough, Buddy walks away dragging the child with him until they
let go. Buddy is a Velcro dog. This dog just loves people to no end. We are very lucky to have been matched up with such a wonderful
fellow. His previous owners did one GREAT job of training him. Although we know it was with enormous emotional pain he was given
up for adoption, we want them to know Buddy plays all day and appears to have settled in nicely. Thank you to the family who raised
Buddy but had to give him up and Brookline Rescue workers for giving us 100+Lbs. of love.
