Brookline Labrador Retriever Rescue
Helping Labs Find Their Fur-Ever Homes
Boomer's family needed to find him a new home where he could be the only dog.
While he was fine with dogs he met in the park or on a walk, he and his fur brother
just couldn't get along. Boomer's owners were terribly sad to give him up but knew
he would be better off in another home.

So, on a beautiful day in late June, we met Boomer at a park. We immediately fell in
love with him. After getting some tips on his training and the family providing us
with a back-pack filled with his favorite toys and snacks, we headed home. On the
way home, we took him to a park and he enjoyed swimming in a creek for the first
time. While he was an avid swimmer in his previous owner's pool, this was his first
encounter with the gradual slope of the creek bed and water that wasn't crystal
clear. Still, within a few seconds he was swimming and finding his favorite kong.

When we got him home we slowly introduced him to our two cats. I can't say they
love him but with the addition of a baby gate on our second floor, they are happy to
stay upstairs where he isn't roaming while we are at work.  Boomer has been a
wonderful addition to our home. We love his happy personality and now that we
have a wireless fence, we love to see him run in the yard. We've got him fetching
his favorite toys - those fleece booda dolls with the squeaker - but are sure to keep
them locked up when we aren't playing so they last longer than 15 minutes! He
loves to help us sort the dirty laundry and lets us know the items that really need
washing by throwing them up in the air, letting them land on the floor and then
rubbing his whole body on them.
Boomer

We feel so blessed to have adopted such a wonderful dog. While I know the decision to give Boomer up was a difficult one, we hope
the previous owners know that he is well loved.
