Brookline Labrador Retriever Rescue Helping Labs Find Their Fur-Ever Homes
|

Well, do you believe in love at first sight? I do now. I am an old dog and have been given up twice but now things are looking up for
me. This summer I was at a pet store with my terrific foster parents trying to find me a home, when this guy comes storming in the
store in a big hurry. He looks down at me and says come here Chubby. I was like who is this guy calling me chubby? I could lose a
few pounds alright but so could he. I got up to see what this guy was all about and followed him around the store. He petted and
played with me and he seemed like a great guy but he kept calling me chubby. Amused, I sat at his feet and that was it. Love at first
sight. He brought his dog Champ (a crazy young lab) to the store and we got along great. A week or two later I saw him again this
time he had his three beautiful nieces with him. I was going to my home. Wow, my charm and personality got this guy hook line and
sinker. I said goodbye to my foster mom who took such great care of me and my new life started. This has been a great time. I am
the boss over Champie and his nieces and their friends adore me almost as much as I adore them. The girl next door is so sweet
and her family treats me as their own. I am at the dog park and creek almost every day. I have been to the beach twice and get plenty
of attention and dog bones. I am doing great here too. My bad habit of whining just disappeared. I can bark again and even run short
distances. I even shocked that crazy owner of mine who still calls me chubby and old bear. I may be old but feel like a pup again. In
fact I even jumped into his truck the other day. Life is good, thanks to my owner and the terrific ladies at Brookline. OOH I got to go. I
think we are headed to the creek again. See ya. Bear
