Brookline Labrador Retriever Rescue
Helping Labs Find Their Fur-Ever Homes
Athena was rescued from a shelter at age 8- she had been surrendered because her
owner could no longer care for her.  After a scary incident with a uterine infection, and
quick thinking of her foster home, Athena was nursed back to health a placed with a
family as a companion for their only child.  She is happily living life with a fur sister and
human brother, and learning how to swim!

On May 12, 2004, Athena crossed the rainbow bridge.  From her adoptive family:  We
had Athena individually cremated and brought her home to stay with us.  We felt very
strongly about that point.  Since no one wanted her while she was alive we wanted her
to come rest with us at the end.
