Hi my name, is Rusty!! My name comes from the cool rust color in my coat. If you are an avid
Brookline web-surfer you already know some of my story. I had a little mishap and accidentally ran
into a car and well you know..........the car won. I have been VERY fortunate to have found my way
into one of Brookline’s awesome foster homes. My foster mom fell in love with me the moment our
eyes met. She is taking really good care of me!! But, my leg didn’t get better and I had to have
some major surgery!! On 2/27 I went to see a very special doctor that does orthopedic surgery and
she removed my bum leg. The surgery was not only major to me but, it sure was expensive. I will
be alright on 3 legs as I was already used to walking around with my leg in a sling. But, I could
sure use a couple of dollars to help pay for my surgery. Brookline has a very special fund for dogs
like me. It is called the Bright Horizon’s fund and it helps to pay for dogs who need some major
surgeries like mine. I feel kind of bad using this money but, I couldn’t help it. You can help me not
feel so guilty by making a donation to the Bright Horizon’s fund so there is money to help more labs
in need. And don’t forget, Brookline ALWAYS needs foster homes so be sure to check out how you
