HEY BROOKLINE!!!!

What’s up??? Guinness here.. reporting my stay in my way cool foster home…

I am loving life here.  So much so that my foster mom Steph has become attached to me, she knows that I am special and that I will make an amazing family labby lab.  I just can’t wait until my next adventure.. My week has been FULL OF THEM!!!

I was SO nervous when I first got here into my foster home.  And after all… why wouldn’t I be?? I didn’t know what was going on.. My original owners had too much on their plate and had to give me up.  I don’t think they realized what kind of athlete I am… and how much I love to run.  But it’s okay now.. cause I get to run and run and run and run.. so much so that I am POOPED at night…

I have my yummy breakfast around 6am and I get to go on a walk right afterward.  I then drive my feline fur sister crazy by chasing her, and sometimes getting into things I shouldn’t, like the trash, BUT I CAN’T HELP IT I’M SO EXCITED!!! Then Steph takes me on another walk, and I usually poop and pee and then I have to go back into the crate for a couple hours.  But that’s OK. I’ve learned that crying and barking gets me nowhere so I don’t even bother anymore.  I just reluctantly go in.

My friend Stacy comes and walks me at lunchtime.  She is sooo cool.  She gave me a Frisbee and plays with me everyday while letting me strut my stuff around town.  And boy do I strut… I also pull like a maniac which I know I have to work on but I just can’t help it.

I weigh close to 60 pounds.  I’m a beaut. Or so I am told. EVERYTIME I GO OUTSIDE… Sometimes I feel like a celebrity… but I’m not going to get a big head about it.. It’s no big deal.

Steph comes home after work and then its FUN TIME.. We go to the park, where it’s just Steph and I for a while and I fetch sticks, and then we go over to the other park where I see my friends.  My best friend is a dog named Bug.  She is a little puggle and she and I really have a good time.  I spend about 2 hours a day running and running and when I get home I am so sleepy…

Steph feeds me dinner and we work on some behavior stuff.  Right now I can sit, stay, come and down but only really when it’s just Steph and I.  I get crazy excited in front of other people and sometimes I forget my manners and jump on them.  I just want to give them a kiss…

I’ve overheard Steph talk about how she thinks I’m special.. And sometimes she lets me get on the couch and snuggle with her.  That’s MY FAVORITE.  I love to snuggle.  I love my post dinner rub downs and I would LOVE to sleep in her bed but I haven’t… I also go to my crate.  I don’t bark or whine when I do, I know it’s nite nite time…

I love kids.  Probably because they’re are more my level, but I am gentle with them despite my energy.  I would enjoy going to a home with them, however I would also steal their food, and toys out of their hands so I don’t know how much my future owners would like that.

Wherever I go, I HAVE to be exercised.  I just have to.  I am so young, and have so much energy and I’m so HAPPY that I have to express it.  And if I don’t get to get some of that energy out, I will go for a shoe.  Or a book… Or really anything… I can’t help it.

I have pink eye. In both eyes.  The vet said it is bacterial, not viral, so it was probably the dust and dirt in my new city life that irritated my eyes.  I have to have drops put in for the next week.

I’m getting neutered Monday.. I have no idea what that means although Steph isn’t going to be able to run me as usual for a little bit.. Hmmm… that will be a challenge for her… I will try to go easy on her…

More to follow and I hope SOMEONE out there has a family that would LOVE me and appreciate how AWESOME I am…

Guinness is officially at boot camp!

This pup will be awesome once he gets the exercise he needs… We had a very small walk tonight and everything is new and exciting for him… Tomorrow will be filled with more activity!

I was surprised he didn’t bolt for my cat… She holds her own and spat and swatted at him confusing him.. And he backed off. However my cat became cocky and over confident and she slowly walked by Guinness and even tried rubbing up against him causing a cat and dog chase to the likes of which I’ve never seen… Back and forth and back and forth in my hallway upstairs… I thought there was a thunderstorm…

That being said… Guinness has had some attempt at training… He’s a jumper and a little mouthy… so we will be working on that while he is with me!!

More to follow…
