Hi everyone!

Well, I have been at my new mom’s house for almost a week.  I really like it here.  Guinness, my new brother, is a bit crazy, but we get along really well.  We like to kiss and sometimes chew the same bones!

My new mommy is super nice.  She loves to pet me and lets me give her lots of kisses!  And she’s got the going out thing down pat!  Because I am blind, new mommy sees to it that whenever there is a curb or step to go over, she lets me know, so I can be prepared.  We go on some little walks, but I mainly like being in the house where I can sleep on the couches!

Oh!  Did I mention that I found mommy’s 2 couches within one day of being here!!  Now, I alternate couches and sometimes sleep in my bed.  When I get all sprawled out on mommy’s couch, she cant lay down like she used to.  But alas, all is ok because we end up snuggling anyway!

OK, time to go take a pee break!  I feel my afternoon snooze coming on!!

Hello humans,

Foster Mom said I really need to get tying an update on myself so everyone can keep their families updated on how well I am doing here.

My hips are more comfortable these days and doing quite well for a well aged Sr. girlie, I take 1- 100mg Carprofen a day which is generic for Rymidial, and one Dasaquin with MSM with each meal, while my hips are weak I still like to romp with my house mate Molly who is 4 yrs old female lab, and guess what today my foster mom filled the kiddie pool and I went in it all by myself and I even laid down a couple of times to cool off, How cool is this foster home.

I only wish some great family who just wants to share their home with me would snatch me up. Really I am not big trouble at all, once I learn your floor plan I am golden to just hang out with you and will solicit you for pets and kisses. I even come with my own plush bed!

Please, is there not anyone out there who wants to beautiful, sweet, loving yellow female Lab to hang with.  ADOPT ME & I WILL LOVE YOU FOREVER!!

Send your inquires to my foster Mom Debbie at  chocolatelabmolly@ptd.net

All my Love & Patiently waiting my “Own” family,

Daisy here, My Foster Mom tells me she is going on vacation for her first week camping trip in about 10 yrs, LOL  I was rolling laughing here cuz “I” get to go to a very sleek Doggie Hotel called the Hunter’s Inn!! FM took me over there this past Saturday late afternoon for a trial sleep over, cool, they have two real nice kids Patrick helped me to find my way around the new house by leading me with my harness, then Ryan & Patrick laid in my bed with me,  sigh…… now that is living!!  I just LOVE these little ones, I like to kiss them when they get close enough for a good, wet, sloppy kiss in!!  So I am looking forward to “My” vacation too.  I think Molly my house mate is going to be jealous of my temporary digs, she has to rough it in the woods and HEY I heard there is a Bear Alert in the Pocono Mtns too!!!  LOL,  hehehehe   Hey Molly  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..  OOpppsss only kidding Molly,  hehehe!!

Relaxing at Camp Hunter, I'm glad I'm not in a tent!

OH I also spent 4 hours at the Emmaus Farmers Mkt this past Sunday, I had a ton of visitors stop by to visit with me and again, LOVE those little ones, I was very gentle with them and let them pet me and one little girl even kissed me ;)   Ahhhhhh that was very sweet of her! Foster mom says I did really well and when I arrived home I found my posh bed and passed out until dinner!!  Then I went right back to bed,  PHEW!  That was a lot of running around for a Senior Citizen you know.

FM started giving me an extra treat after each meal I think she called it Dasaquin with MSM to help ease the discomfort in my hips, she tells me it may take up to a couple months to take full effect, but at least I am getting a good supplement thanks to those  awesome Brookline People paying for my Medication!  We get it off this square thing she calls a computer from Amazon.com cuz they have the cheapest prices and we get the 252 tab bottle for 131.00 cuz it is the cheapest in the end, I take two tabs a day.

My dear friends here at Brookline along with my foster family were really hoping that I could have Cataract Surgery to help me see again, but at my eye evaluation I was found to have a condition called PRA which is Posterior Retinal Atrophy. It is a condition that starts around age 5 or so as the Retinas’ start to breakdown and give off an enzyme that sticks to the natural lens of the eye and causes the cataracts, Dr. sadly told us that doing cataract surgery would not help my vision, and that there is nothing they could do to give me any vision.  I don’t know why my FM tried so hard to change my vision, Heck I don’t care much, I still play with resident Lab Molly, I even found the toy basket with-in an hr of coming to my foster home,  LOL!!  I love to play with squeak balls and drive my FM crazy when she wants to watch TV, but she does not make me stop because soon I had enough and find my bed and take another nap!  Ahhhhhh this is the life!

I am ready to find my ” Own” Furever family though, might you be willing to allow me to crash at your house, If you adopt me I will Love You Forever!!!  I love pets, and brushing my fur. My FM even brushes my teeth with no problems.  Molly & I play in the yard together, she likes to play Hide & Seek with me, cuz she keeps moving around the yard until I finally crash into her,  Hahahaha!!

As my FM says anyone can ” Rescue” a Puppy, but a “True Rescue” is a Lively Senior as my self!!  Will you not give me a chance to love you back!!!??

Please contact my Foster Mom if you have any questions about me at: chocolatelabmolly@ptd.net

Hello Brookline Family & Family Bloggers,

Hey did you hear everything is coming up DAISY’S??  hehehe   Yeah Foster Mom says I am one of her best kissey and snuggle bug’s she has ever fostered or have had the pleasure to snuggle with!  I finished all my Antibiotics today for the Kennel Cough I acquired when my previous family dumped me in that nasty shelter…. And those bite wounds from the very bad other dog who bit me in my pervious home are healing nicely.  I presently live with a 4 yr. old Chocolate Female Lab and we are really good together. I do tend to seem pushy but I can’t see her or you cuz I have Cataracts and a little hard of hearing too, so I tend to stand very close to any one and dogs too.

You know I am a Beautiful, Yellow, Senior girl who needs lots of love and affection, not cold, hard, kennel cement floors.  I am all better now, but my Dr. wants to wait one more week after my last antibiotic until I am exposed to other doggies, just to be sure I am fully cured.  Foster Mom has been giving me a Generic Medication from the vet called Caraprofen ( generic for Rymidyal) to help my stiff hips, it does seem to be helping. Dr. wants me to taper back a little at a time to see how low of a dose I can tolerate and still not be so stiff.  Hey I am 10 yr. young and have bits of puppy spunk several times throughout the day and I love to go for short 15 to 20 min walks with you and then come back get my little snack and settle in for a nice long nap.  Ahhhhhh now that’s the life I am looking for in my new Fur-ever home.  I am doing well on my walks cuz we take the same path everyday and now I am used to all the smells I wear this thing called a harness and my foster mom guides my gently and she helps to keep me on the right path and keep my eyes away from, brush, shrubs, & trees.

Spring is here and I am sporting my “Daisy” & Lucky Bandanna handmade with love by our very own Brookline Crafters. See my pictures. I hope to live out my Golden years with a great family who will care for me, give me a nice soft warm place to lay my head (like your Lap, maybe??)  I asked my Foster Mom to put on my Lucky Bandanna in one of these pictures Praying that a really wonderful caring family will take me home to ” MY” new home really soon, really all I want is lots of love and snuggles, now how much could that cost you?? In fact my snuggles are FREE to you, for the rest of my life!

I am presently eating Verus Chicken and eat all of my meals. I had a complete Senior blood panel drawn and ALL of it came back absolutely normal, including my liver studies!  YEAH for me.  ;0)  I am also Micro chipped and my foster Mom will share all that important info with you.

Please look for my picture and write-up on our Web page next week. Now I know you are all going to rush to put your applications in for me, but please do not push and shove. Only one great family will get to enjoy me but we always have lots of wonderful Senior Labs to go around. Please check out Brooklyn’s wonderful Silver Muzzle Program on our web home page.

I’ll talk to you next week, and please if you even think you might give me that loving home I am desperately seeking, send in your application now, there are no obligations, only regrets that you waited too long, so don’t let that happen to you!  I would not want you to miss out on me & all my LOVE!

Luv and lots of Kisses and Snuggles

Daisy road very well in the back of my car from Rachel’s house to mine about an 8 min ride ;) .

I allowed Daisy to explore my fenced in yard, she will need to get the lay of the land inside & out due to her being completely blind by at least cataracts, the health of the rest of her eyes is unknown at this time. She bangs into everything inside and out but I am keeping her on leash so I can help show her what to avoid knocking into. Daisy does have a touch of Kennel cough as well.

She was pacing a bit, and has peed outside twice, with no accidents so far inside. She ate most her yummy kibble for dinner. WOW sloppy drinker for sure!!  Yikes open the flood doors. I showed Daisy “Her” bed and she is now resting in it, but not sleeping yet.  She has found the TOY Basket on the floor in my living room; she loves the squeak toys, LOL!

Molly and Daisy met in the back yard first with Joel holding Molly on leash and I with Daisy on leash with sniffing and no problems.  I was preparing both bowls for dinner and Daisy was sniffing Molly’s backend at little too much for Molly and she gave Daisy a low growl, I made Molly sit and stay, then gave Molly her dinner on one side of the kitchen and Daisy on the opposite side with me in the middle both with leashes on, and then all is well between them, and Daisy is also a sloppy eater she digs in and moves her head away from the food bowl and drops 1/2 of her mouth full of food on the floor.  Daisy takes treats nicely too.   OH she is now SNORING away in her bed  ;0))  Yeah!

According to the Shelter Daisy has yeast in her ears and we will have that checked as well at her vet visit. She has a terrible hind end weakness and hip displaysia. She is on Docycycline & Ceftain pills right now.  She has numerous sutures in her right ear and left front leg. She has skin wounds with no sutures on hind leg and right inside of her leg as well. Vet records say Daisy was Bullied by “other” resident dogs?? I will be taking her to Quakertown Vet Clinic as soon as I can get an appointment, her sutures need to come out as her skin is very irritated around the sutures and is excoriated. I think I might just remove them myself because her skin is going to break down even more and vet record says suture removal in 10 days, well that was on 2-21-11  YIKES! no wonder her skin is so red now!

Molly is now in her soft crate in the living room sleeping and Daisy in her bed sleeping ;)   ahhhhh  Dasiy & Sally are THANKING Rachel tonight for being so patient with the shelter staff to get us out of lock-up today!!
