Hi all! Well it looks like ‘another one bites the dust’ into the ‘foster flunky’ club! This sweet girl isn’t going to be leaving our household. She is such a loving, wanting to please lab and we can’t imagine her going anywhere else even though I kept repeating in my head….just fostering, just fostering. I know, I know, we flunk; we still foster but we’re flunking!

Crystal here with an update from my neat foster home. I’ve been here almost a month now and Foster Mom keeps telling me I’m being a good girl. I’m in the last week of my cycle….lol….I threw Foster Mom a curve ball when I heard she was hoping I would be on a 8 or 9 month cycle….hehe…don’t tell her I’m laughing on the inside! I hear they are still taking me to the vet’s for that spay thing they talk about. Guess I’ll be there overnight from the way it sounds. Well, I guess I better ask for some Brookline mojo….I hear Foster Mom talking about that too.
I’m working on down with my paws because when I sit in front of you I like to keep putting my paws up and would eventually put both feet up in your lap…..not always the best thing. I have climbed up on the couch when Miss Molly doesn’t have herself perched up there…..that’s kind of comfy…..not at all like hay bales!
They are still taking me on those morning walks and I’m loving that and doing good at heeding Foster Mom’s “wait” call if I start to pull ahead. That’s really the only time I do a #2; everything else I’ve done in my yard.
I have also heard Foster Mom tell Foster Dad that she is going to start to test me being ‘free’ in the house while they do yard work or go down to the local store for milk and goodies. I’ll let you all know how I pass that test.
Gotta run…..my nap clock is telling me its time for a nap after walking.

…..it’s been a busy weekend with more experiences and new nicknames for me. First new nickname happened on Fri. when Foster Mom and I rode to the vets to pick up medicine for my foster fur sister. Foster Mom called me GPS of all things. She said because I perched myself between the front seats standing on the console with my front legs peering over her shoulder that I was her new GPS system….making sure she didn’t make any wrong turns. She gave me lots of praise because apparently I like it in the car much better than Miss (grumbly) Molly (who by the way gets along with me much better now days).
Foster Dad is always calling me ‘shadow’ because I guess he thinks I follow them around a lot. BUT I did learn a quick lesson on Sunday….Foster Mom was putting Easter decorations away downstairs and the first 3 or 4 trips I did follow her but the next 2 trips she made down stairs I waited at the top of the steps for her. I wasn’t going down again unless there was a treat involved!
Foster Dad took Molly and me for a 1.8 mile walk Sunday. We didn’t get to go on Saturday as Foster Mom took us for a quick .25 mile walk before she had to go away. Here’s a picture of me (and lazy Molly) watching foster Dad go without us Sat. evening! Oh well…..guess he needs to walk faster than us labbies sometimes!

I also had company last weekend….one of those little people visited for an overnighter….thank heavens she slept in a big bed and I didn’t have to share my bed with her. As you can see by the picture she thought she had to share a blanket with me for my nap time….but that was ok, I liked her and I was comfy/cozy under that blanket.

I’m not sure what it is with these humans but Foster Mom yesterday put a doggie rain coat on me! I guess she thought I may need it if we walked today.
Well by the looks of the clock above this computer it’s my nap time. Going to dream some labbie dreams!

My name is Crystal and my Foster Mom thinks I’m a very sweet chocolate girl. I have been in my new home about 13 days now. I was used to living on a farm but now I am working on adjusting to living inside of a house AND sharing it with my 2 fur foster sisters. I’m making my adjustment and after a few grumbly sessions with my one fur foster sister we are getting along good. I was used to sharing space on the farm with horses and loved them. Now the only horses I get to see are 3 horses we pass on this new thing called a ‘walk’. I’m getting pretty good at that and actually today put in 1.8 miles on the roadway. (What do they expect from a 6 year old….I’m in great shape.) I look forward to going out with my Foster Dad, Foster Mom and fur foster sister.
Yesterday I got to go for a ride in the car to meet a few people at a ‘work place’ so my Foster Mom could pick up some items from her friend. I rode very well in the car but I did have to ‘say’ a few things, although they weren’t loud; I just had to let Foster Mom know what I thought of her driving. She even had the window down part way for me so I could put my head out the window and let my ears blow in the wind. I met several other people while on my little journey and they all thought I was a nice girl.
I heard my Foster Mom talking on the phone about scheduling something called a spay surgery. Somehow this doesn’t sound like fun to me. I think they said I have to have this done before they can look for a new home for me. Geezzz, just when I was getting comfortable.
Well, it’s almost my bedtime (I sleep really well all night long) so I’m going to sign off and rest my head on my pillow. Sweet Dreams!
Crystal
