Chessie

Hey it’s Chessie again, just hangin’ out at the fosters.  Wait, wait, no, thought a belly rub was coming.  Can’t get enough of them.  I’m starting to feel more at ease at my foster home and am enjoying my daily routine.  I’m now allowed to sleep in the bedroom with the fosters and Huck.  I get up early in the morning so that I can take a walk (I’m up to 4.5 miles) before it gets too hot. But first, I eat a light breakfast. I eat it slowly and don’t bother Huck while he’s eating. I do my ‘business’ regularly on my walk. When we get home I take a nap. Every once in a while, I wake up, grab a toy and get Huck riled up to play with me. We play tug and wrestle then we go back to our naps until I wake up again. Or I go in the study and flip FD’s arm off his keyboard. I get supper and then hang out with the fosters. I so happy I can’t stop wagging my tail!

Looks like I’m going to have to stay in the crate while no one is home. Although I never counter surf while someone is home, I did help myself to some snacks the other day. FM says it’s for my own good so I don’t eat the wrong things and I really don’t mind staying in the crate.

On Friday, I will be going to the vet to have my spay surgery done. FM says there will be lots of hands there to pet me and I’ll be one step closer to finding my furever home so I guess it’s a good thing.

Chessie

Hi!  I’m Chessie. I was a stray who ended up in a shelter. On Sunday, someone from Brookline took me in as a foster.  I’ve been so happy since I was sprung that I’ve been wagging my tail all of the time.

When I arrived, I got a bath and I loved it, especially the part where they dried me with towels. I have a very pretty coat that’s a rich chestnut brown color and very soft. I like getting brushed and my coat gets even prettier with each brushing.  I’ve also had my nails trimmed and I didn’t mind it at all (I got a belly rub the entire time!).  My FM tells me I am a very beautiful girl.

See, I LOVE getting attention, especially belly rubs. If you ask me to lay, I go right into a roll so that you can rub my belly. I also know how to sit and what to do when FM says ‘out’ when I go where she doesn’t want me to go. I love being with people, am eager to please and very affectionate. I will even lie in your lap, belly up of course.

The first few nights I slept in a crate. I barked for a couple of minutes but then settled down and slept through the night. In the morning, I just stood there wagging my tail waiting for FM to let me out. Last night, I slept on the floor in the bedroom and today, I was allowed to spend a few hours alone in the house without being in the crate. I was a very good girl so I think the fosters trust me now and I won’t be spending much time in the crate. I don’t counter surf, trash pick or take anything that’s not mine.

I am a little overweight but I’ve started a diet and exercise program to get my girlish figure back. I go for a long walk every morning. I like walking and have no trouble keeping the pace. I also play tug with my fur foster brother Huck and chase him (he really likes it). I also retrieve and will give you the toy when I bring it back to you.

Next week, I will be going to the vet to get spayed. After I get that taken care of and recover, I will start looking for my furever home.
