Buddy
I love to play with my stuffed toys, sit by your feet while you watch T.V. or work, and take walks around the neighborhood. I like when new people come to visit as I am very friendly but I never bark or growl at them. Actually, my favorite thing to do is to grab a toy and ask the visitors to play with me. Children of all ages are also my friends!
I have a calm, easy-going personality and I am very well mannered. I follow many simple commands and I never counter surf or beg for food. When I go for walks, I walk nicely with my family and I love exploring new places- especially leaf piles along the side of the road.
I have not lived with cats but I used to live with another dog and we got along great! I get along with my dog friends at daycare too. When I spot other dogs along my walking route, I wag my tail and want to go meet them but I tend to bark and growl at them when up close. I am very protective of my family when I don’t know my four-legged neighbors.
Several days a week, when my family goes to work and school, I can be left with full run of the house. I have never needed a crate. As long as there are no stuffed animals or plush pillows around to put my mouth on, I don’t get into any trouble. I prefer to nap the day away.
At night, I like to sleep on my dog bed next to my human sister’s bed. In the past, I’ve been known to sleep in my owner’s big bed but I know not to get on any beds or furniture unless I’m permitted. Wherever I sleep, I do so very soundly for 8 to 9 hours and I wait patiently to be taken outside in the morning.
My foster family has a fence around their yard but I would probably like to stay close to my owners in any yard and just play fetch. I have no interest in chasing small animals but I do like to chase my tennis ball or play tug-of-war with my rope toy.
Although I have something called Addison’s Disease (my adrenal gland under produces either cortisol or aldosterone), it doesn’t hinder me at all. I take one pill a day which I gobble up in my dog food. My pills only cost $120 for the entire year and I’m worth it!
Buddy is a seven years young yellow lab mix. He is up to date on all his shots, has been neutered, and has a clean bill of health. He is a sweet, good-natured and loyal dog who would make a wonderful addition to a family with children or a great companion for a couple or a single. He would likely enjoy a canine brother or sister as well.
