My FM & FD are vacationing this week, so I got to go on a vacation too to a short-term foster home.  I’m having a great time, even though my temporary FM has put me to work.  I’ve been attending Brookline table events, meeting lots of people and other dogs, and letting everyone know about the wonderful work that Brookline does.  My temporary FM says that I’m an incredible Brookline Ambassadog, which I think is a good thing.  I’ve loved every person and every dog that I met, and my temporary FM told me that everyone feels the same way about me.  My temporary FM is also impressed with how intelligent I am.  After I almost knocked her over the first night trying to be the first out the door, she decided I needed some door manners.  In less than 24 hours, I learned the “WAIT” command, and now I let her go first and tell me when it’s okay for me to exit the door.  I love to play and you’d never know by watching me play that I have hip issues.  I can run like the wind and my temporary FM says it looks like I have springs on my feet.  She’s also impressed with how quickly I chill out when I come inside – not something you would typically expect in a puppy.  I hope you’ll come out to meet me at a future Brookline event.

Brandie is a 10 month old chocolate lab that was rescued from a shelter.

Brandie is definitely a big ole’ puppy. She loves to chew but so far it has been toys only. It seems that she knows her boundaries. She is a bit of a jumper now but only when she is really excited. She is so excited to have Brooke here. Brandie wants to play with everyone and everything she meets. She does tug a bit on a leash and seems to be in a hurry to get where we are walking but it’s not uncontrollable. She thinks she is a lap dog though and she LOVES to cuddle. We are working on the lap dog thing…she’s kinda heavy. We have been able to go away for an hour or two and leave her uncrated and the house was just as we left it when we returned. We do crate her while we are at work and she goes in happily. She does bark for a few minutes when the door is closed but that doesn’t last long. Brandie goes for her consult on 9/9 for her hips so fingers crossed she’s fine!

Up close and personal, Brandie...your a fine girl!

My FM says I’m a very excited puppy, but you’ll be happy to hear, not a jumper.  I walk great on a leash but sometimes can get excited and pull.  I do think I’m a lap dog, but I just love my people.  I can also be trusted at home alone.  I don’t eat or chew furniture but I like to play rough with my toys.  There are so many cats here in my Foster Home and I am great with all of them.  Keep checking back!

Hey there brookliners!!  It’s me, Brandie.  Sorry it took so long for me to write but I’ve been busy busy busy.  I met my new foster mom and sisters when they picked me up on Wednesday and we clicked immediately.  We girls stopped to do some shopping on our way home and I picked out some pretty new accessories.  I hope I don’t sound too conceited but I look great in pink.  When we got home I was sooooo exhausted that  I made myself comfy on the couch and took a little nap.  I think you may have seen the picture  (my foster mom is a little obsessed with her camera….ughhhh).

I've got some great friends here!

I've got some great friends here!

After my nap my new sisters introduced me to some of their friends and we had a big sleepover and I must have been really tired because I fell asleep first and I didn’t hear a sound until the next morning.  When I woke up on Thursday I helped my sisters and their friends pack the car for our road trip to Massachusetts.  It was a long ride so I took this opportunity to catch up on my sleep…hehe.  When we got to MA I got to meet my new foster dad.  I wasn’t too sure about him or my new grandpa.  I think men are a little scary but I decided my foster dad wasn’t such a bad guy and I think I’ll give him a chance (I’m still not crazy about that guy they call pop pop).  Since we were out in the boonies my sisters and I did some major exploring and we even saw a coyote….yikes!   See What I mean about busy?  I sure am glad to be home and now I plan to settle in and get to know my furry feline brothers and sisters, there sure are plenty of them.  They seem to be a little nervous when I’m around but I keep trying to show them that I just want to be friends.  I really hope they figure it out soon.  I heard my foster mom talking on the phone to someone and she was saying so many nice things.  I heard her say I was the best and how lucky she was and boy did that put a big smile on my face.  I am attaching a picture so you can see that I couldn’t stop smiling all day.

I can't wipe this smile off of my face.

I can't wipe this smile off of my face.

My foster mom made another call but this time it was to the doctor.  I heard her tell the doctor that she was worried about my back legs.  I don’t want to worry her more but I noticed that my back legs slow me down sometimes too.  It really isn’t too bad, I just have a little trouble getting up but I’m not gonna let that stop me from having fun.   I will write to you again after we hear what the doctor says but for now I am going to go take a nap.  Ahhhh the sweet life on Chocolate Avenue!  I could get used to this!

AHHHHHH.......

AHHHHHH.......

Lots of Lixxxx,

Brandie :o P~~~
