Brookline Labrador Retriever Rescue
Helping Labs Find Their Fur-Ever Homes
June 2006
about us. That way they won't place a wild and crazy ball of energy with a couch potato family.  That could spell trouble! Take me for
example. I'm really smart (and really good-looking! Hee-hee). My mind is always going and if I don't have people around to keep me
company and give me something to do, I'll find things to get into on my own. And some people are not happy about what I find. I can't
tell you how many times I heard "Sparky - get out of the bathtub!" at my foster home! Hee-hee. Hey, I was just looking for something
new to play with! Luckily, the Brookline folks learn as much as they can about each family and each dog so they can make the best
match possible. They found me a family with a mom and dad and two grown kids who have lots of time to spend with me. I get so
much activity that sometimes all I want to do is sleep! But it's great and my new family said they can't believe how well-behaved I am.
HA! Can you say perfect match?!
Your place sounds awesome, Diane, and I'm sure some Labbie would be really happy there. I've already found my forever home, but
there are still lots of dogs waiting for theirs. Check out Brookline's web site and, if you live in their coverage area, contact them to learn
more about the adoption process. They're a super-duper bunch of folks and they'd be happy to help you find the right Lab for your family!

Thanks for writing, Diane! I hope you and your K9 buddy find each other real soon!

Dear Diane,
You're looking for a dog like me? Cool! You have a fenced-in yard and a pond for
your dog to swim in? Way Cool!! I'm not up for adoption anymore…but maybe I
could vacation at your house! Hee-hee!
I lived in a Brookline foster home for six months while I was looking for my
forever home. Most Brookline dogs are not in foster care for that long, but I was
kinda picky when it came to choosing my forever family. Hee-hee. And believe
me, it was worth the wait! I knew the moment I laid eyes on them that they were
the family for me. I walked into the pet store and saw the four of them smiling at
me… and standing right beside the biscuit bar! Oh yeah! They had me at hello!
The Brookline folks work real hard to make sure each and every one of their
dogs go the right family. They're kinda like agents working for the dogs and the
families….doing home visits to learn about a family's lifestyle and what they're
looking for in a dog….and evaluating dogs to find out the same kind of stuff

Dear Sparky,

Are you for adoption? I am looking for a dog like you. Do you like other dogs? I live in the country with
a fenced in yard. Do you like to swim in a pond as we have one?
