Brookline Labrador Retriever Rescue Helping Labs Find Their Fur-Ever Homes
|

like wrapping presents at Borders and hosting picture days with our good buddy, Santa. Hey - maybe some of you folks would like a
picture with Sparky Paws!! I really need to have a talk with the big guy! But back to Brookline… Everybody knows this is a crazy, busy time
of year but the Brookline folks cram in these extra things to raise money for the rescue and to get Brookline's name out there. Why?
Because they care so much about the Labs in need!
Yeah, they take a few weeks off to spend time with their families, finish their shopping and wrapping and baking (hope they're making
some yummy dog treats!), and relax for a little bit. But they do that so they can rejuvenate and be ready to go full force in January!
Plus, the Brookline folks know that this time of year is hectic for everyone - not just them. As much as they want each and every one of
their Labs to find their forever home, they know that holidays are not a good time to place a dog (or any critter!) in a new home. Settling in
with a new family can be stressful and we dogs like routine. With all the traveling and decorating and parties and company, the holidays
are about as far from "routine" as you can get! So this break is good for everyone.
But that doesn't mean there will be no Brookline activity over the next few weeks! The Brookline foster homes will be busy over the
holidays! There are nine lucky dogs that have already started celebrating the holidays in a Brookline foster home. Cool! And there are at
least four more lucky dogs that will move into their new foster homes in the next week or so. Way Cool! These lucky pups will get to
spend the holidays in a warm, loving home instead of a cold, lonely shelter! That's about the best gift these puppers could wish for!
So don't worry, Callie. The Brookline folks have not stopped caring about the Labs! Nope, that will never happen!
Oh behalf of everyone at Brookline, I'd like to wish everyone a way cool holiday season! Whether you celebrate Hanukkah, Christmas,
Kwanzaa, Boxing Day, or something else, I hope you share it with family and friends and a special someone who gives you big hugs
and sloppy kisses!
Enjoy all of those holiday decorations, but canine friends, remember my warning about those outdoor lights! If you don't know what I
mean, go back and read my very first column! Trust me - that is not the sort of holiday surprise you want! Hee-hee!
Anyone else have a question? The Great Sparkdini has the answer! Hee-hee! Drop me a line at AskSparky@verizon.net.
Hugs and Sloppy Kisses,
Sparky
Hey Callie!
Have the Brookline folks stopped caring about the Labs? NO WAY! Trust me - I
keep a close eye on these folks and I always know what they're up to! I'm sort of
like Santa Claus….I see them when they're sleeping…I know when they're
awake… Hey, maybe I should team up with Santa. Santa Claus and Sparky
Paws! Has a nice ring to it, doesn't it? I think Santa could use a really smart -
and really good looking - dog! Hee-hee! I could even drive the sleigh. That would
be way cool! Hey, a dog can dream can't he? I'm dreaming of a Sparky
Christmas…!
Sorry - got a little sidetracked there. Anyway, let me tell you what the Brookline
folks are up to these days. On top of all the normal home visits, dog evaluations,
introductions, and finalizations, they've been involved in all kinds of holiday stuff
Sparky,
I see that Brookline Lab Rescue in on a holiday break for a few weeks. Does that mean they have
stopped caring about the labs in need?
Callie
